Question:
Where can I get my soil tested?
Answer:
A basic soil test gives you information about the chemical make-up of the soil. The results will give you the pH, percentage of organic matter, and information about the phosphorus and potassium in the soil. Recommendations for nutrient amendments will also be given. This is especially useful for a garden or lawn setting, and knowing the acidity of your soil (measured by the pH) so you can make informed decisions about plant selection.
You have a couple of options for where to get your soil tested. Store purchased pH tests and others are not recommended as they are not accurate. Either of the Labs listed below will give you credible results.
